Best known
for his classic “rock” photographs,
Elliott Landy’s works include the Woodstock Festival
(he was the official photographer), and iconic portraits
of Bob Dylan (Nashville Skyline), The Band (Music from
Big Pink), Janis Joplin, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix,
Jim Morrison and many others. As a photojournalist he
documented and supported the rising tide of anti-war
sentiment and spiritual awakening throughout the United States during
the late 1960’s. His work has graced the covers of ‘Life’
‘Rolling Stone’ and ‘The Saturday Evening Post ‘
and has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide.
Backbeat Books published his latest book “Woodstock Vision”
in 2009.
EXHIBITION: During the European Festival of Nude
Photography, in Arles (www.fepn-arles.com) Galerie Huit
is pleased to present “Love at Sixty “ a passionate and
artistic blend of photography and prose. It’s the personal
account of celebrated photographer Elliott Landy and
writer Lynda Landy, two children of the sixties whose
chance connection 40 years after college awakens a
love suspended in time. Through a series of bittersweet
vignettes we share the spiritual and sensual rekindling
of that love, as well as the complexities of letting go and
starting over at 60. “Love at Sixty” is the result of
their
collaboration, a photo-verité journal that captures the
spontaneity of life and the wonder of love at any age.
